 Standing Committee of the IFLA (The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) Section on Acquisition and Collection development mid-term meeting took place in March 3–5, 2010 in the Russian State Library. Representatives of librarian community from Great Britain, Sweden, Germany, USA and, of course, Russia took part in the event. Such meetings of the Standing IFLA Committee are corner stones of the future information centers development; they enhance professional advancement of regional and national Libraries as well. Unrestricted access to information is very important in the process of free and unbiased mind development, liberation of consciousness, propagation of peace and mutual understanding.
