Thematic Collections

Collection Holder: Central Book Repository

Thematic collections have been formed at the RSL as specialised document holdings on military affairs, including lifetime editions of classics of military science (Military Literature), foreign publications about Russia (Rossica), and works by authors of the Russian emigration (Russian Literature Abroad).

These collections contain: books, brochures, journals, newspapers, pictorial materials, leaflets, posters, and unpublished documents in Russian and foreign European languages.

Russian Literature AbroadThis collection includes books, journals, newspapers of the Russian emigre community, works by authors from several waves of emigration, foreign books and periodicals about Russia (Rossica), and other materials
Military LiteratureThe book collection includes publications from the library of the General Staff of the Russian Army (1811–1917), thematic holdings on military administration, and other materials.
Documents of Limited DistributionDocuments marked “For Official Use”, etc.
