Main Collection Reading Room

Publications that were previously issued here can now be obtained elsewhere.

At the Main Circulation Desk, according to its schedule:

  • Newspapers from the Russian Literature Abroad collection.
    Question: Where are books from the Russian Literature Abroad collection issued?
    Answer: At the Main Circulation Desk, and you can then move to any Reading Room of your choice. Microfilms and documents on CD can be picked up in the Electronic Resources and Microforms Room. The equipment for working with them is also located there.

  • Calendars, board games, bookmarks, labels, theatre programmes, advertising brochures, leaflets, timetables and many other types of ephemeral publications. These are part of the batch‑processed documents that do not have individual descriptions in the RSL Electronic Catalogue. You can order such documents after prior consultation by phone:
    +7 (499) 557−04−70, ext. 46−43.

In the Oak Reading Room on the third floor (Room A-309), Monday to Saturday, 12:00 to 20:00:

  • Documents marked “For Officical Use”, provided the reader submits a letter of reference from their organisation. The material will be delivered within 30 minutes.
